Fattal Hotels’ Contributions to the Community – “Hosting you with Love”
At Fattal Hotels, supporting and giving back to the community in which we live is a way of life. It is part of the corporate culture of each hotel in the chain. The owner of The Fattal Hotel chain has a very humanitairan outlook and this is instilled in each and every one of his hotels worldwide. David Fattal believes in serving the spirit of each local community, and every one of his hotels has a part to play in this contribution. David sees this support as a ‘...golden thread of love ... from the most senior manager to the simplest worker.’
The hospitality of Fattal Hotels has become synonymous with the love and desire to help and uplift commmunities and community-driven projects in their surrounding areas. Ganit Buchman, the company’s Training Director says every staff member is committed to helping their local community through carrying out the hotel chain’s corporate culture to fruition. Neighborly support filters down through each and every staff member and in turn is felt throughout the areas in which Fattal hotels are situated. These self-less ministatrations are enjoyed by people from all walks of life –disabled children, cancer-stricken children, learning disabled children and teenagers.
Celebrating Bar- and Bat-Mitzvah is a special occasion for every Jewish child and undoubtedly he or she deserve treatment in a very special way. That’s why for 9 years the Fattal chain has been offering its hospitality to the Ashelin boarding school students. The children that are to become “adults” according to Israeli tradition enjoy a special trip to Eilat that includes various attractions. The same is happening all over the country – Leonardo hotel in Haifa hosts the children from “Kefar Yeladim” boarding school in Karmiel, Leonardo Plaza’s team (the hotel is situated at the Dead Sea shore) makes sure that the inhabitants of “Beith Mazor” in Arad are a little bit happier, providing them with equipment and hosting them for culinary workshops several times a year…
There is also a great passion to help the disabled, especially the young ones. Workers of Leonardo Suites Hotel in Bat-Yam devote a considerable amount of their spare time to children from the nearby “Yaad” school. In Eilat, Magic Sunrise Hotel sends tasty presents from the hotel’s kitchen every week to the handicapped children in several schools and kindergartens. A noteworthy initiative was undertaken by Leonardo Plaza in Tiberias: hotel workers are tutoring in the nearby “El Rehama” – Arab school for he handicapped, not only aiding the weak, but also promoting the co-existence agenda.
The elderly are not left out and enjoy hot meals every day as well as festive holiday meals on special occasions. In this way the hotel hopes to assist them to enjoy their old age and to live through it with the necessary dignity and grace accorded to our elders. The needy are given a special attention. Each and every Fattal hotel donates meals and food to the poor through relevant charity organizations, such as “Ezrat Avot” and “Latet”. On major holidays, hotel chefs prepare a festive meal for various public kitchens: “Beit Rafael” in Eilat and “Meir Panim” in Tiberias.
Combating disease can be a tough task, but happiness and joy are two things that are sure to help a person in a process. Fattal Hotels collaborate with numerous groups and organizations in order to enhance the life of the injured and sick children. Families are provided with free hosting vouchers and special events are organized for them to try and forget (at least briefly) about their worries. Several hotels are engaged in long-term commitments with a number of associations, such as “Hayeinu” and “Kav LeHaim”.
The Fattal Hotels have made a bold statement of their intent to support people from all walks and stations in life by adopting the Israeli Army’s combative Sagi Mountain Brigade via the "Adopt a Battalion" program. The soldiers are given meals on their days off, they are invited to celebrate special holidays at the hotels so as not to miss their families while feeling lonely or depressed and the hotel offers them jobs should they need financial assistance.
It is a requirement of each hotel in the group to annually submit its plans for community upliftment. Another socailly responsible part of the Fattal Chain’s committment to the community benefitting from their assistance is their policy of employing mentally and physically challenged people. By providing emoloyment to the handicapped the hotel staff go out of their way to make them comformtable and part of the hotel network. “It gladdens our hearts to see the relief and appreciation on the face of these people when they are treated as equals and are at last able to maintain a decent living standard and to support themselves” says Mrs. Buchman.
While reaching out to every possible member of their immediate community, the Fattal Hotel Group makes an enormous difference to the lives of numerous people – young and old, healthy and sick – in the vicinity of their hotels. Their enduring committment to improve the lives of all they come into contact with puts them at the top of their game in the area of social responsibility and quite clearly demonstrates their motto, “Hosting you with love”.
